Statement issued by Fox News regarding Donald Trump prior to the Republican Candidate Presidential Debate scheduled for 1-28-2016:
“We learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes president — a nefarious source tells us that Trump has his own secret plan to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers to see if he should even go to those meetings.”
Later, Fox News called their statement “a satirical observation” – as their defense.
Roger Ailes, Chairperson and CEO of Fox News, wants to be Charlie Hebdo – an infamous satirist news rag that kills people with words and cartoon images, pleading artist expression through comedy, and speech freedom, as their defense.
It didn’t work in Paris. Don’t try to make it work in the USA. Stop acting like a Parisian in Terrorist drag with the intent of killing off anybody. You’re not funny. Your words aren’t funny. Your motives are mean-spirited and xenophobic.
Conjuring up in people’s minds images of Muslims and terrorists associated with a presidential candidate in the USA is the same as drawing a picture of a cartoon and publishing it. Inserting President Putin of Russia and the Ayatollah into your Charlie Hebdo game with Donald Trump, because he said he would talk to all world leaders and you wanted to quash that thought was juvenile and inappropriate. Until you know what various cultures consider funny, keep your destructive words to yourself.
It’s not your job to punish. It’s your job to publish fair and balanced.
Charlie Hebdo is not fair and balanced – and neither is the Chairperson and CEO of Fox News – Roger Ailes.
