ON THE MORNING of August 28, 2014, two days after the end of the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza, Sohaib Zahda hopped into a shared taxi in Hebron that was going to Ramallah, where he had a job interview.
Thirty-three-year-old Zahda, who owns a paintball company, is an unlikely terrorist. An avid cyclist who speaks Arabic, Italian, French, and English, he is a member of Youth Against Settlements, a nonviolent organization that protests against Israeli settlers who live in and around Hebron. He is opposed to Hamas firing rockets into Israel. He likes to tell visitors his grandfather had Jewish friends in Hebron in the 1920s.
Hebron and Ramallah are about 25 miles apart. To get between them, Palestinians must pass through the “container checkpoint,” manned by Israeli soldiers on a road that connects the southern West Bank to its central and northern cities. At the checkpoint — named for a shipping container once located at the barrier — Palestinian pedestrians queue up to get their IDs checked, while cars wait for inspection and for soldiers to wave them through. When Zahda’s taxi drove up, masked Israeli soldiers stopped the vehicle, asked him to get out, and then handcuffed him….

What is it about Arabs and Palestinians and Persians that they have to include every detail surrounding anything they write about? Just give the facts.
Of course Israel is going to blame Palestinians for inciting violence against Israelis. The Palestinians are the ones committing the violence of which the Israelis speak.
Israel is not going to look to themselves as the cause. Israel thinks they are perfectly justified in prejudice, discrimination, enslavement, torture and slaughter against a people whose land they covet. They want your land. Why can’t you see the cause of what they do? For the same reason they can’t see the cause of what you do.
Israelis don’t know how to make peace. Palestinians obviously don’t know how to make peace either. Israel wants what they want and they are going to get it – your land. For all these years you haven’t come up with a viable plan – except to kill yourselves. Whoa. Nobody anywhere in the world wants to invest in a people who want to kill themselves. Don’t say you kill yourselves because of what they do to you. That’s not an excuse, a reason nor a plan. Why do you keep asking them to free you? Are you little children? Free yourselves. Work with them, not for them. Equal partners. In everything. Show you can do it.
Hamas and Hezbollah keep saying they have discipline. No you don’t. Yes, I’m talking to you directly. You have no discipline – and the Jews have even less. There is no discipline in killing – in torturing. There is no discipline in building tunnels for the purpose of getting guns. Build a tunnel to get supplies for survival if at all. Guns destroy, and the world thinks you all have a death wish. Israel has a death wish too. They just keep putting themselves in the line of fire instead of moving away from it.
Stop posting death images and threats on social media. It doesn’t matter that you didn’t build or throw a bomb. You may, without knowing it, encourage somebody else to do it. Why should you vent your evil onto the world? I don’t want to hear your anger, your hatred, your destructive thoughts. I don’t want to see the inner you reflected in the images you post. I don’t want to fear you, so don’t try to make me fear you.
Make me want to like you. Both. I’m talking to both of you. Jews don’t care if anybody likes them. That scares me. That means they have no self control and don’t care what they do, how they do it, to whom they do it, when or where or what time they do it. Nobody wants to invest in loose cannons, in people whose direction changes with the wind, people who don’t respect the views of others – only their own.
Hey, if Israel had their way, they’d drown every last Palestinian. Unfortunately the only way to prevent that is to work with them not for them. Jews work very hard at making you hate them, so you’ll pop and then they’ll feel justified in murdering you. Don’t let it happen. Exercise some self control. Build a future not a bomb. Build a life not a death sentence.
Don’t be so arrogant. Neither of you have anything to be arrogant about.
