Secret Obama-Era Deal With Iran Derails Key Sanctions on Iran’s Propaganda Network

Secret Obama-Era Deal With Iran Derails Key Sanctions on Iran’s Propaganda Network

HWH COMMENT: This confusing article fails to mention what type of sanctions were imposed on Iran for disseminating propaganda via their media to their populace.

How would the USA determine in Iran what is false news and what is not false news? It’s difficult enough in the USA to fact-check the lying fact-checkers.

It really isn’t our business to be proof reading the news stories in a foreign country, or to be issuing sanctions based on what Iranians report in their news programs. What have we become the professor of the world, grading every country’s homework? That’s an over-reaching manipulation, dictator-style tactic that we accuse everybody else of doing, yet we engage in the same behavior. It’s a waste of time, effort and money.

Yes, propaganda (fake news) is bad, but freedom of speech appears to allow it. So either believe nothing or believe everything and the propagandists will finally get the picture – that their lying news stories are not influencing the views of those whose minds they want to control – for personal or political or social benefit. In fact if one believes everything and nothing it deletes all efforts to influence. People are smart enough to make up their own minds.

Dissidents disseminate their own propaganda. So who is fact-checking the rhetoric they claim as facts? All dissidents of any nation want with a fervor to take down the existing leader and existing system of governance, yet nobody has a plan for what happens next. It’s all piece meal. Every individual in the movement has a suggestion as to what the country needs, but no one has a solution on how to make it happen, except to unseat a leader and a governing system.

They think erroneously that somebody else will step in and know exactly what to do and how to do it. Look back at Egypt and Libya and Iraq and Syria. Do you really think the USA had a plan of action beyond taking down a leader? How successful has the USA been In Palestine? Everybody thought all they had to do was get rid of Yasser Arafat, then Ariel Sharon, yet look where we are now? The same place. Nowhere.

Obama supposedly issued sanctions on Iran regarding their media propaganda machine, but made a private deal not to enforce those sanctions, an action the USA often takes when trying to satisfy all voting members of representative parties when in the process of forming an agreement or legislating laws. It accomplishes nothing but confusion, and confusion leads to chaos.

We criticize Russian Nationalists for trying to sway the USA populace via propaganda efforts prior to USA elections, but we in turn do the same in foreign countries – all countries where we have an interest in who wins an election. We support the foreign candidates in their respective countries whom we believe we can work with on common goals, or who will work with us. And we go to great lengths – corrupt lengths – to get them elected.

In essence we want these elected officials in foreign countries to put the interests of our country before the interests of their own, and yes we will and do pay a lot of money for that type of commitment. But in the end, what self-respecting country would make such a deal? It’s a slave-master relationship that the USA propagates all over the planet and punishes severely those who won’t go along with the program – Russia is one that refuses to be the slave of the USA. Ukraine on the other hand would give the keys to their country to the highest bidder for a tin of caviar.

Right now the USA is trying to overthrow a leader in Iran by giving comfort and financial support to its dissidents. How is that different from Russian Nationalists trying to influence American elections? A lot different. A lot worse. A lot more intrusive and dictatorial. We need to stop acting like the gangsters of the planet.

President Trump is going to have a problem deciding on any action he takes regarding sanctioning Iran for disseminating propaganda due to his own frustration with the democratic propaganda machine in the USA that dominates most of the news and opinion shows designed to take down the current USA president.

The dissidents are equally corrupt in the theatre of telling lies. They again erroneously think that the end justifies the means, that whatever lies it takes to unseat a dictator will be forgiven and in fact are necessary, because they regard the populace in the same way governments regard the populace – too stupid to make smart decisions, so the government aka dissidents work hard to make their minds up for them.

The smart move is to stay out of it. Let the Iranians sort out their own fake news issues. The USA government cleans their own stories the same as Iran or any other country cleans theirs. Words are cheap right now and there are no word battles worth fighting that any side on any issue can hope or claim to win.

Everything anybody says is meaningless in a chaotic climate.

Speak with actions not sanctions. People aren’t believing words right now.

Iranian dissidents outraged over Trump admin decision to waive sanctions of Tehran’s propaganda machine

BY: Adam Kredo February 21, 2018 12:50 pm

The Trump administration waived key sanctions on Iran’s main propaganda network last month, causing outrage among Iranian dissidents and administration insiders who tracked the effort to a little known Obama-era side deal with Iran that bars these sanctions from being implemented, according to multiple sources who spoke to the Washington Free Beacon.

The Trump administration, in an unpublicized move, waived sanctions on Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, or IRIB, a satellite service that disseminates propaganda across Iran and routinely censors content.

Iranian dissidents who took to the streets in a renewed wave of protests had called on the Trump administration to sanction the IRIB in a bid to prevent the Iranian regime from crushing the latest protests.

While the Trump administration had initially promised to issue new sanctions on the IRIB, the State Department blocked the effort due to a little-known agreement reached between the Obama administration and Iran during the sensitive negotiations that led to the landmark nuclear agreement…

Some Issues To Consider On Immigration Reform

In the current immigration debate:

Peoples wanting to enter the USA from all corners of the planet say it’s just like hundreds of years ago when immigrants came to America from Europe, with a pittance in their pockets, so open your God-damned doors before we huff and puff and blow your doors down.

No it isn’t the same.

Those immigrants were coming into a wilderness – a massive area of undeveloped land not built for habitation yet. There is a world of difference. They came ready to build, not to tear down or game the system to only their benefit. There wasn’t a system to game.

Immigrants today come to a nation already made to order, already established – the suffering of making that nation done by the predecessors of those who live here, not by the ancestors of the new immigrant. That reality must be respected during all talks.

Simply to say it’s a big country, there’s enough room for everyone under this massive tent, is naive.

Try putting three hundred million plus people under one tent and see what happens. It didn’t work in your own country, don’t try to force it on the country you want to enter to call your own.

It’s not your tent. It’s a country. It’s not a boat nor a pot. People don’t melt. They haven’t melted yet, so what makes you think that you’re coming to a melting pot?

Are you going to assimilate? No. You won’t. That’s what melt means. It means assimilate into a new culture. You won’t leave your culture of abuse against women and children behind. You won’t leave your culture of prejudice against all other animals and all other ethnicities of humans, except your own, behind. You won’t leave your authoritarian politics behind. You won’t leave your resistance to anything American and anything White American behind.

You want only the money opportunity.

Are you ready to build a country, a better country? No. You’re ready to make a country bleed, so when the war is over you can call it yours.

It’s that war mentality that this country does not want nor need. Make a war in the country you want to leave if that’s your mindset – stay there and make war. Don’t come here and war against the country that you expect in advance to meet all the demands that your own country of origin failed to meet.

You need to contribute to the process of achieving your goals. If you’re not that kind of person, then free-load some place else. There’s a reason why your country doesn’t want you – you’re high maintenance.

Just because you can get on a plane, on a boat or jump a fence doesn’t make you tough.  It doesn’t make you any more worthy than anybody else. In fact, it shows you don’t know how to plan ahead. You go to a foreign country with nothing and expect that country to take care of you without any thought of reciprocity. Any fool could do it. What’s your plan? Stay low so nobody knows you’re here? What kind of life is that? Always living outside the law. Always blaming everybody else for your woes: first you blame your country of origin then you blame the country you came to.

In my view, the law must apply equally to all those living or visiting within our borders, or to no one within our borders.

The law, all laws, must apply to everyone or to no one.

Get rid of the phrase cherry-picking. It’s old, worn out, tired. People aren’t cherries, ideas aren’t cherries. Get with it or don’t run for office next time around. You didn’t stay current, you didn’t seek solutions, you sought only to postpone forever. Pass a law, then let only certain people, certain populations, break it with impunity? Everybody else has to obey it? That’s just plain stupid. Lazy too. Ignorant.

The USA needs a new Naturalization Act.

Everybody (regardless of age, religion, handicap, ethnicity, gender, socio-economic status, language etc. and who is not currently in the judicial or penal system) who has lived in the United States for five years with the intent of staying in the United States becomes a United States citizen with all benefits afforded all other citizens, with one exception: dual citizenship to another country is not allowed – no matter the country.

You don’t need to speak the language, but you need to obey the laws like all other citizens. Not speaking English is not a viable defense.
