Using somebody else’s military to fight your battles always puts you at a disadvantage over any enemy perceived or real, since you place those judgment calls into a dictator’s hands, who then expects compliance and favors in return.
It’s like letting another country write your history books or take control of your media; once you hand over those precious rights to any country but your own, you become slave to the controlling country.
